Abstract
I examine the music of Senegalese/North Carolinian band Diali Cissokho and Kairaba and examine how personal dynamics and ideologies manifest in the music they play. There is an emphasis on the dangers and enriching properties of cross-cultural communication and the concept of spirituality and healing through music.
