Abstract

This past summer we worked with ten collections in the Oberlin College Archives from Oberlin alumni, professors, or organizations during the Second Wave. We used their letters, diaries, manuscripts, and speeches to craft a narrative of their life's work within their historical context. Natalia worked with the collections of Seal Press, Evelina Belden Paulson, Frances Walker-Slocum, Oberlin YWCA, and Ellen Johnson. Becca worked with the collections of Eleanor "Bumpy" Stevenson, Mary Church Terrell, Committee on the Status of Women, Ruth Alexander Nichols, and Student Life: Gender and Sexuality Conferences. Our work is collected here: http://americanfeminisms.org/
