Abstract
We used an optical frequency comb to excite two-photon transitions in atomic potassium. The results of this experiment will provide tests of atomic theory calculations and further the development of new spectroscopic techniques. We anticipate that our study will improve the current knowledge of the potassium 6s energy level by a factor of more than a hundred. We present our progress towards these results, including the details of our experimental setup and preliminary data.
