Vibrational Assignments for Cis-, Trans-, and Gem-Dichlorofluoroethylenes and Deuterodichlorofluoroethylenes
Assignments of the twelve vibrational fundamentals for each of the three isomers of dichlorofluoroethylene and deuterodichlorofluoroethylene have been completed by means of an infrared and Raman study of CCl2CFD and a far-infrared study of CCl2CFH and of cis- and trans-CFClCClH(D). An internal coordinate representation was found which made possible transfer between the three isomers of force constants for the out-of-plane modes and thus the prediction of the elusive ν12 fundamental for the trans isomer at about 190 cm−1.
