Abstract

Developed and operated by Oberlin College students, Prestissimo offers a streamlined way of searching for courses and planning schedules for upcoming semesters. Since its beginnings as a Winter Term Project in 2012, the site has grown to 2,500 registered users. This summer we integrated with the college’s official login database, so users now sign in with their ObieID and OCPass credentials. This gives us the ability to reliably distinguish between faculty and students. Using this information, we were able to add new course editing features just for professors. They can now add custom course descriptions and course notes as well as hide courses from search results. We also replaced our mobile site with a more functional and modern interface.
